I work alot in the forest chopping trees and I always carry a chopping blade. One of my favorite knives right now is the Cold Steel Gurkha Kukri. It chops like an ax and the krayton handle is comfortable.
The only thing I don't like about it is the SK-5 steel. It chips pretty easy.

I would really like a SR-101 dif tempered kuk with res-c handles ! That would be the ultimate chopping tool.

I had a KZ and sold it. The handle wasn't what I was looking for and it transmitted alot of vibrations.
Res-C is the ticket !

I agree. A swamp kukri with roughly the same dementions at the Cold Steel kukri would be a winner.

Res C on a Kukri would be a problem. Not that the ResC wouldn't hold up. But the traction of the coating would result in blisters if usiong that material on a kukri handle. A kukri works best with a smooth but not polished handle which alows the knife to move in the hand when using chopping cuts.

Check out the Kukri made by Fox of Italy. It is one of the sharpest and most solid that I've ever handled.

This concept has been on my mind for a long time. Perhaps a longer handle than the standard Scrapyard/Swamprat fare with a greater flare at the end? Definitely follow the blade shape/size of the CS Ghurka, perhaps a little less curve.
