Hi experts,

calling for help. I have purchased cheap Nepal kukri and I'm aware of it's limitations - I just want it to do some hard messy work around garden. However, the "keeper" on the handle is loosened a little, and I'm not sure if this is normal for rat-tail tangs, or should I try to fix it somehow?

Thanks for answer.

Peen the tang by putting the point on hardwood, and lightly tapping the tang with a very small hammer. Use wrist action only, and anything bigger than a tack hammer is too big. The idea is not to drive the point into the wood (though this will happen,) it is to flare the head of the tang slightly to hold the pommel and handle in place. Tap all around the pin and directly on top- until it flares enough to hold the pommel tightly.
