If we were to take an equal size and weight parang and kukri which would make a better chopper? Better carver? Better skinner? I really would love to get one but havent been able to find anyone that makes them. I would like to hear your opinions and if you know of someone that is selling one or makes them let me know. Thanks Geoff. btw it is the knife on page 20 in the SAS survival handbook. Thanks Geoff.

I have a nice Parang made of spring steel. I use it inside mostly to split firewood because it works so much better than a hand ax. I haven't used it in the field much because it usually serves me better around the place whacking down brush and bucking limbs. I've never skinned with it but it does lend itself to carving. I prefer it to the Kukuri.
