is the san mai kukri discontinued? Was it convex edge? Will the A2 version be convex or flat ground?

Yes. They are only being made in A-2 steel and they are flat ground.

Yes, The San Mai IIIs had a convex edge and are great for chopping or anything else you want to do with a kukri. I've still got a couple NIBs I keep in reserve, in addition to my user.
