I need some help from the cantina in identifying a couple kukris...these have been kicking around for a long time...I know most of them..but can't quite remember 2 of them...any help?

Here are the pics:

I think this kukri and AK Bowie both belong to "Coast to Coast".

I marked this one with a "Z"...but have no idea why....:foot:
Who's is it?

This one belongs to Warren H.

This one is unmarked - and I have a vague memory....but man, it has been a awhile. This one is a rare "first generation" AK Bowie with the 3 fullers...I'm afraid to touch it!!!

Well....that's about it...I don't have any more kukris in the shop (except one belonging to Wendel - over 2 years ago!)

Yes...I have been dragging my feet on these, guys...take a lot of work and downtime to finish 'em out.

I'll leave this aside for a couple days...in hopes of hearing from the owners...if I can't figure it out...goes on the backburner indefinitely. :(

Thanks for the help.

Dan

Dan, the one with the cord-wrapped handle is mine. And, no, I wasn't the one that did that to the poor thing.

BTW, no problem at all if you want to just send it back. I understand that your real knife business has taken off, and that there's little/no time for projects like this.

Man I forgot how much I love the AK bowie. The Munk Chunk Cleaver took over its duties and it was gifted to my father. I'll have to pick up another one of those the next time they show up in a DOTD.

Aardvark - if it's no bother...I'll go ahead and send it back. I'd like to see a full tang handle on that beauty...would look great. I can do that instead if you like. Either way is fine with me.

Jake - the 1st Run AK Bowies are HOT!!!

Dan, if you have the time to do a full tang handle, I would love it. That's what I would do if you sent it back as is.

Yep, I sent one of my AK Bowies to you a while back, Dan. Hope you can find the time to finish it up for me soon. But if a quality job means waiting a little more, fine by me.

working on them this week, bro. I'll post pics once the guards are glued up.

Everybody gets brass and cocobolo (except for t1mpani - stacked leather). Hopefully that will speed up production.

ran out of cocobolo...using bubinga on 2 of 'em...

still missing a piece to this puzzle....?!?

Nonetheless...progress has been made!

cutting out all the parts...drilling the handles...dry-fitting everything...

I have a trick up my sleeve on yours, Aardvark. ;)

I'm going to put a brass guard on it....and I tapered the tang (still full tang). And there's one more thing....can't say just yet. :D

Hey, that old AK was mine! Darn Aardvark! A couple others were mine as well. And they've all been prepaid.

Bubinga is OK with me I guess. Thanks Dan!;)

Have no idea guys....I've been putting these off until I get the mystery solved...*shrug*

I'll take a look at 'em again Monday.

Thanks!

Dan

What did I do???

No, not a thing! Just wishful thinking on my part Aardvark. (Didn''t figure Dan would go for it. His records aren't _that_ bad.;):o)

Those old AK Bowies are things of beauty, esp. with the nice old tooled scabbards. When I bought mine from Uncle Bill in early 2004 those were already long gone.

I hope to see pics of that one especially after it's been rehandled. Should look great.
