That link is to the screen shots but you can also download from there, episode 8 has Sean kennedy throwing himalayan imports 18" ang khola (made my shankar).

It's a good series and he's a friend of mine.
If only I didn't get HIKV from him.

yes, it is possible, although they arent exactly well suited for it. however i wouldnt recommend it with traditional khukris because the scale materials are fragile and they can also loosen up from impacts.
either try a dirt cheap FRN type handled khukri or with perhaps a cheap $15 khukri. i wouldnt try it with anything valuable because even one bad throw can loosen or crack your scales.

If you were going to do it I'd practice with a cheap khuk like one of those Cold Steel machete khuks. You're only out about 15 bucks if you bang it up. Blackhearted is right about traditional khuks not being suited for the job. Whether it is a slab style or hidden tang, that is an awful lot of trauma for horn or wood to withstand. I have an HI Ang Khola that took a long walk off a short cliff and the horn is cracked to heck. Granted it was a pretty nasty fall, but it did more damage to the handle material than 100s of hours of hard chopping has done to any other khuk i own.
Also, watch you legs and groin! Khuks are curved so when they bounce they bouce hard and fast and alot of the time right back at ya. It's a good way to get a nickname like "stumpy" or "limpy" or turn a Glen into Glenda.
Khuks are great knives and lots of fun in their own right...just not optimal for throwing. Can you throw one? Sure. You can throw anything. it's lots of fun. It's just kind of along the same lines as sneaking up behind a deer and beating it to death with your rifle;)

Be careful and watch your toes et al.

Let me first say that I don't know noTHing about throwing cutlery.
However, wouldn't one of the pointy models (HI) be best suited for throwing?
.
That would be the Uncle Bill model OR maybe the thinner ones, like the sirupte and the kobra.

Cold Steel LTC Kuk throws like a dream! It's really a khuk-shaped machete more than an actual khuk tho.
