P.S...I was always skeptical, and now I know. They are some serious survival tools. And with the deals here, everyone should own atleast one!

Sorry, you may now continue with yor regularly scheduled programming.;)

LOL, no worries. It's just we ALL already know kukris are great. Thanks for reaffirming that for us though. Carry on...
:D:thumbup:

it's too late for laha, once the steel is in your blood, it's chronic and symptoms can only be suppressed temporarily by application of new sharp shiney things.

If you think khukuris are awesome now, wait till you've bought an additional five or more.

When you get to the advanced stage of HIKV, you'll need a Khukuri Caddy to follow you around in the woods, carrying all your precious khukuris for you.

I suggested to my main pup, Thor, that I could make him a special harness for such a job, but he told me I'd need to pay him by the hour, and in porkchops or he'd go on strike.

So I suggested to the other dog, Trixie, that I make her a harness for the carrying of porkchops to pay Thor. She claimed this was discrimination and refused to do it unless paid an equal amount of porkchops.

Now, I'm not about to get another dog simply for the purpose of transporting porkchops because I'd need to obtain yet another dog to carry porkchops for that dog and this madness would never end. My wife says there's no way she's following us around in the woods with a backpack full of porkchops in order to pay two spoiled dogs, each with a sense of entitlement.

So I reckon it's back to carrying only one khukuri at a time.

yes and when you get you kukuri mated with a R-10 in a sheath you made your self
then you can ask how your friends how their Bush craft is going ,cause your doin Bush Work

since you have the dogs carrying the khukuris and the first set of porkchops, it's only fair that you carry the porkchops for trixie. the wife will have to carry her own porkchops.

p.s. - blue and millie said to tell you they will work for chicken thighs.

I think I have a really infectious case of HIKV...I am up to 4 and counting. :D
Now I am gonna have to invest in a pile of leather...I want to make a custom sheath for one or more...should be fun. And costly;)

Check out Tandy Leather, you can get some good deals on some good leather from time to time. I rather like the Double shoulders between 8-9oz and the 9-10oz in thickness. And I think they are currently running a sale on some low end double shoulders at 8-9oz leather. If you hand pick it, you can make out pretty good. Got a bunch of both sizes for making Machete and Bowie sheaths. If you need some help or advice, check out the sheath making forum and feel free to email or PM me. Email is in my signature. I started out making sheaths for my self and now I'm a part time sheath maker. It can be a lot of fun!!

BTW Khukuris are awesome!! My 16.5" WWII model is my go to Khukri for hiking and camping. Wishing I still had a large chopper and I'll take care of that desire when I have the spare money. My 20" Sirupati is one Mean Slicer. Slices through brush and green wood like crazy!!

Hey Gene,

Good to hear you like the HI knives! I just scored my first early this week. I can not wait until it arrives to try it out. I have been busy here reading about saftey and proper care. I am so stoked to get it and take it out with me on a hike and try some yard trimming. HI has hit me hard! :D

GKN, good to know there's another Leather bender/smith here at the cantina. :) Got pictures of your sheaths? IF you have posted them in the past I've totally forgotten. :o

Pictures and a write up would be nice. ;) Sounds like you have CAK Fever. You should check out the Chiruwa WWII. Pretty sweet Khuk if you ask me.

I have a Rat Tail 18.5" WWII, and I saw pics of a Chiruwa WWII the other day and said to myself "Hmmm...I need one of those!"
My WWII is a fantastic lightweight chopper...I love it.
And I am a CAK fanatic...but the BOnecutters are really winning me over right now to.
EDIT: Many of the sheaths I have made are out in the world right now...I might have a couple in the Trunk..I will check, maybe some forumites that have one of mine might stumble upon the pic request...you never know.
