I finally got the opportunity to use my Kumar AK blem (what blem?) that I picked up as an UBBOTD a few months back.
I arrived home yesterday to discover that a 10' long 4.5" diameter branch had fallen from one of the trees over the driveway, due to heavy thunderstorms. In fact, had I been parked there, it would have left a nasty dent in my vehicle's roof.
So I went in an got my Kumar AK blem to see about chopping the branch up. I was most pleased with the performance of the blade, not only is it beautiful it is meant to be used.
I don't think the knife is particularly sharp, but it certainly did the job admirably. I hacked through the smaller branches easily. Some were cut clean off, while others snapped simply by my force and weight of the blade hitting them. I was able to hack through the thickest part of the branch in 5 or 6 hits. I was very impressed. In all it took about 15 minutes to do the job.
When I was done, I wiped the blade and sheathed the AK with a contented sigh, and a mental "thank you" to Kumar and Uncle Bill.
