Hi guys here are some pictures of a Kumar Everest that I received awhile ago. I am just getting a chance to post pictures now. It an amazing piece and I included pictures of my other HI swords. The Yavraj wajisaki picture has since been traded to Cul for a Kumar wajisaki in horn to match the Everest. I also own a Kumar Trisul which makes a awesome nontraditional Daisho all forged by the same kami Kumar. I will take pics of that along with my recent Kumar Talwar sword which now sits under the Sher Tibetan long sword.

Here are some pics I hope you enjoy. HI sword may be a bit heavy but they balance and handle just a nice as my other more traditional swords. They know how to make REAL swords! Not just wall hangers. They are probably the sharpeset swords I own and I own more than a few swords. I think I have like 17 or 18 functional swords and a couple wall hangers. The Everest handles like a sword half its weight, it really is a super thick sword, but you would never know it once you start swinging it. Let me know what you think.

You mention that it's a bit heavier than the other swords you have. Is it because it's thicker, heavier materials in the handle?

It mainly due to the thickness of the blade and Chirwa style handle. Usually full tang handles produce handle heavy blades that swing like crap. These sword balance about 3-4 inches past the guard which is perfect! Most of my katana are around 2.1-2.4 pounds. The Everest katana is 3.5 pounds which is heavy by katana standards. You would never know it when it is swung though. It handles deceptively fast and it very solid. I have a Kumar Talwar that is 4.4 pounds, its a beast! It also balances at the same point, as does the wajisaki and Tibetan sword. The Tibetan is around an even 3lbs but feels lighter due to the chirwa handle. The deep fullers also contribute to the light weight of the Tibetan. The Everest is the same thickness its entire length until in ends in a sharp evenly distributed point.

I just wanted to stress that the Kamis know how to make swords. They aren't just hammering out things shaped like swords. They are hammering out well balanced, perfectly functional pieces of artwork.

Very nice Katanas GB, and I am liking that Tibetan Long Sword more and more, may have to get one done by Kumar one day. Mine was made by Rajkumar.

Very nice swords gb! I gotta finish my display so I can look at them more regularly. My Rajkumar Katana is displayed of course. What is the AOL on that Tibetan sword? I sure NEED one of them. You need a Giant Chitlangi Bowie and youll have em all:D ...well mostly.

Here are the specs on the Tibetan Long Sword...
Overall length --36''
Weight --51 oz
Spine thickness --5/16''

It is a supremely agile sword especially considering its weight. It handles just fine single handed but it has enough room for a two handed slice. The fuller are soooo deep its almost as if there is a wisp of metal between the two fullers. Its 5/16 spine but it has to be only 1/8 at the fullers. Very solid sword!

The Everest has nearly a 3/8 spine. it extremely thick but balanced perfectly. I am amazed how well it handles. Here are the specs on the Everest..
.Overall lenght --36.5''
Weight --54 oz
Spine thickness --3/8"
Horn handle

What do I think? I think I sure as h*ll wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of any of them. Love the short sword on the bottom rung of the rack. I type with my Keshar Lal bonecutter next to me....Habit, mind you. :D

I believe I'm gonna give that keyboard chopping a try my own self.

It's like it has a mind of its own and don't say what I want to say sometimes ya know? Need to teach it a bit of respect.

Bawanna-On second thought, maybe those rogue keyboards need to be kept in line. :D

Warning? Uh, well, I just thought it was a fine idea myself. I shall cleanse thine eyes of mischievous sparkles forthwith.
