NO, I didn't kill a hog with a Kumar Karda.
But I did finally get to use the KK for what I had intended it for: dressing large game. I used to use a RAT-7 and then a Jarvenpaa Leuku for this task, but the KK looks like a Leuku on 'roids, and I had to have one.

Its 9" of blade makes it bigger than I'm used to, butt he Scandi grind it has makes an excellent slicer, and yet it's thick enough to pry bone and cartelidge.

It worked very well, the most notable thing was the rounded bell-bottom of the handle. It made an excellent tool to push under the skin to help skin the animal, better than any of the other knives I've used for this task.

I'm thinking that adding something like an R-5 or JKM-1 would round out a nice "Kuk-muk" trio with my 20" CAK and the KK.

I heartily agree on the efficiency of the JKM-1 for dressing, it is a pleasure. Alas, a pleasure I only got to have once...: )
The JKM-1 I used is a pretty gem with a Montana Elk handle but my board of directors has decided it's too purty for me and mom must have it.
Now the darn horn handled R-5 was getting good use peeling wild turkey for taxidermy and de-boning turkey-duck and chicken for Turducken...that is until my youngest daughter found that it must have been custom made for her hand! And it was gone into her possibles bag...

Now I am re-handling MY R-10 in true Bruche Bocote Wood fashion, the stock handle was too thin for my hand, so now I'm custom shaping a beautiful, fat, shapely and sexy hourglass-ish handle that is too big for any other hands in this house. Pix are almost here, the new comp is hopefully on it's way and M'Lady will finally be able use the 10.1 megapixel camera this dunderhead got for her.

And yes, I still need to get me a Karda...
