Does anyone own a Kobra and can you give me a heads up on what you think about it?

I'm considering it for brush and trail clearing, along with the Gelbu ,sirupati, and chitlangi.

Thanks.

I have both a 20" Kobra and a 25" Kobra. Although I am certainly not martially trained, they are some of my favorite HI blades. I HAVE used the 25" to clear away several logs (it's 320z and 3/8" thick), and occasionally DO use the 20.5" 20.5oz one as a trail clearing machete of sorts. HOWEVER, please keep in mind that the Kobras are NOT warrantied for nor are they technically designed for such work. They are more angular swords than machetes. I would stick with a Siru over a Kobra if you are going to put it to field use.

I simply use mine in such a fashion because I am familiar with their build, strengths, and weaknesses. Also, should I bend or break one using it in such a manner I am fully aware that it was "user error" and Yangdu would owe me nothing:)

But they really are very, very cool knives. The 20" version makes a formidable machete that could cleave bone in a whistling flash of angry steel. I think someone once said that the 20" would be a good "sword" for leather plate armored foes. For chainmail, you'll need to move up to the 25" version, and believe me, I think a full sized 25" Kobra would be plenty to bash/slash through that kind of armor. :D

Agree with everything the previous review said. I own a 25" and a 30" King Kobra. The tip of the 25" is slightly damaged due to user error (accidently bashed it on the concrete floor while going through a chop, thinking the blade was shorter) but the balance is unreal for a kukhuri. My favorite however remains the 19" siru though, it is a beauty.
