I was commisioned by Shaldag to make a sheath for his Kumo. I used 7-8 oz veg. tan leather with a dark brown dye job. I added some embellishment by stippling the inner edge with a dremel. The sheath can be worn in 4 vertical positions...left side edge forward or back and right side edge forward or back. I completed the whole sheath in about 6 hours. I'm working on his Nealy Aikuchi later on tonite and tomorrow.

Thanks,

That, K.V. Collucci, is a very nice, good looking and versatile sheath:thumbup:.

May I steal the design from you?

I've been dabbling with leather and made one for a Caffrey EBK I recently accquired, because I was not happy with the Kydex sheath that it came with...I love leather:D :D. I would like the option of right or left carry. TIA Preston

Preston,

Thanks for the thumbs up. Most of my designs are thought of while I'm in the moment. I try to follow the visual lines of the knife and work from there. Feel free to copy the design and if you could add anything to it please share!

Thanks, so much, K.C. Collucci. I do have a few ideas and will try them out and post here.

One, I'll mention now because I use it on the leather sheath that I made for the EBK. If you know the knife you know that it does not really have a guard or pommel. I was worried about the knife coming loose and finding a new home when the leather aged and stretched. I put a small nut and bolt assembly near the "choil" so that I could tighten it up if and when the leather became loose.

It works and I'm thinking that it might work for horizontal carry, because it can be made real tight. I got the idea from a holster that I have that can be adjusted for ease of extracting the pistol. Preston

Good to see you back into the leather -- very nice piece.

Nice Ken,

I love multi-carry options on my sheaths. I'll have two or three knives for you to look at when you have the time. Also interested in a set of vambraces with sheath for one of the knives. I had a set made for the missus you could use to reverse engineer a set for me if your interested.

K.V. that looks really nice. I agree with shaldaq, Kydex Maybe functional, but I don't like the way it looks.
