KVT bearing direction

Does the orientation matter for these or other similar captured bearings for that matter? There is an "open" side and a "flat" side if you've ever seen them.

That’s a good question. Are you taking about the blue ones that come in most ZTs? I’ve taken apart 0801s, 0452s and a couple others but I remember them looking the same on both sides so I applied a little nano oil and just threw them back in.
Hopefully someone with more knowledge can chime in.

In this case I'm actually wondering about the bronze (or brass maybe?) type where one side has a channel that the bearings sit in and the other side is flat with the bearings protruding.

Closed side towards the blade. That's how all my kvt knives have been when I took them apart.

Good to know. In other words, I have a Bear and Son knife with them in backwards right now then lol
