Was wondering if anyone with a 0560 or something of the sort could help me out and give me the thickness of one of the KVT bearing washers that Kershaw uses for these knives? Would like to know how they compare to the phosphor-bronze washers in the 0550 as far as dimensions are concerned. I assume they're a fair amount thicker, but just how much are we talkin'?

I don't have measurements but I wouldn't be surprised if the wagers with the bearings in them were 5-10x thicker than standard phosphor bronze washers. that's why they have to mill pockets in the lock side frame and on the blade on the liner side.

yea, that sounds about right. Was thinking about trying out a franken-ZT, but looks like it'd be too much milling to pull off. haha

I wouldn't try it. If the bearing pockets aren't completely flat, the action will bind. They they aren't deep enough, it will bind. If they are too deep, you'll have play.
