So I bought one of the the kw exclusive c.f./ti millies. I was sooo hyped and then it came with a super late lockup and verticle blade play. I could forgive the late lock, which I don't really care about long as the knife locks solidly, but that blade play suuuux. Such a bummer cuz the knife is insanely sick. Granted its a tiny bit, but almost 3 bills on a knife I don't think its outta line for me to want a solid lockup, I mean correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, was thinking of switching it out for a better one. Anyone have experience with knifeworks customer service. You think they'd understand where I'm coming from? If not, has anyone here ever swapped a linerlock Millie blade and put it in a frame lock Millie? Thanks, I joined this forum just to ask everyone this, glad I did seems cool, I'm definitely a spydie freak. Thanks again in advance

KW has excellent CS- I would think there would be no problems with an exchange, also I have seen several liner-frame lock blade swaps that worked great

I would give them a call and get it exchanged. Both of mine are flawless.

As for the liner to frame blade swap I did it woth a Ti Millie and black DLC G10 model and had perfect lockup and centering on both.

Call KW tomorrow. Ask for Roger, the owner. The person who answers the phone is going to have you
talk to Roger anyway.

exchange it or do warranty... that's not normal as mine is perfect. they will exchange or fix the issue don't worry.

I've done liner to TiRIL swaps with no issues, but that was before the CQI "improvements". I have no idea if it would work now.

Alright, will do, I mean its a tiny bit but hopefully they're cool about it.

Hey you should post a pic of the lockup on yours if you don't mind. Can't believe I got a lemon cuz ive been waiting for this for like a year. I hope they haven't run out. Hopefully when I talk to someone they'll set one aside for me. Anyone know how much stock is left of these. They've gotta be seriously getting close to low on em

I'm sure they've held some back for just this reason (warranty replacement).

I know on earlier exclusives, they released the held back qty after some time has elapsed for ppl to examine them (can't recall which model, but I was one who bought during the second release...).

Nice, I called em and they were super chill about it so I shipped it back to em today. Damn the waiting on this knife begins again I guess. You guys have no idea how much waiting I've done on this dann knife. Waited for release forever then shipping and here I am again haha

Damn see that looks perfect. Mine was way to late. The bar was fine I think it was just the tang, they clipped it to short, not enough steel to stop the bar. Anyway Can't wait..... Again haha, something to look forward to tho

So check it out everybody. I returned my military. It didn't have any horizontal blade play, but if you grip the knife, obviously, around the loch bar and grabbed the blade between your thumb and your index finger and moved up and down you could see and feel the lock bar moving lock side and there was play. granted, it was forced blade play, but in my mind it was too damn much. They told me they'd switch it out, which I appreciate, but that the rest of their stock is the same way. I know that folders often have a little bit of play, forced play that is, but this was just too damn much in my opinion. does anybody else who owns this knife can you "force" vertical play into your blade? that's my question I guess. I don't know I have a lot of knives and it just wasn't acceptable to me and I'm not exactly a pain in the ass customer or somebody who has ridiculous standards, I don't know....

I tried to grip mine in all different ways cause I'm not sure what you mean... and I didn't have any blade play what so ever. only way it would is if I pushed my thumb on the lockbar like I was going to delock the knife and close it.

so I really don't understand.

Alright cool thanks man, yea, just gripping the knife normally and trying to wiggle the blade up and down vertically.. Mine was jiggling pretty good. Reason I asked is because they told me they were all like that and I don't believe that. Anyway I asked that they switch it for me and they did so ill see when it gets here early next week if I got a better one. They talked to me like I was an idiot, saying it was just a tiny bit, but I know what's up, and it was a shitty knife, period. I really was kinda pist about the way they handled it. Either way I'm sure the next one will be fine, least they switched it.

So I got my Millie swapped out and it finally came in the mail. Its perfect. They told me the knife I sent em back was fine but I assure you it was not. The guys there knew it too, I know they did, so its kinda perplexing as to why they'd say that, unless it magically fixed itself during shipping. Further more, if it was fine, why switch it out for me, which tget did?????? There's no way you could've inspected that knife and concluded that it had anything other than a botched lock. Either way I dunno, all water under the bridge cuz I got a great one and I'm happy! I love it! So yeah kinda gave me some flak but made sure I was happy and that's cool. I don't know why I'm so curious but I always wonder how many they have left kind of thinking about buying another
