Kwaiken, folder/flipper?

Folks, I'm looking at a Kwaiken and am not knife literate enough to understand the differences between the flipper and the disk opener. Is it just a matter of preference? Also, I've seen reviews stating that at least the early Kwaiken were not easy to open and had tip protrusion issues when closed. Was this a problem cured in the current ones? Was it specific to the disk openers? I am leaning toward the disk opener just because of familiarity. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Joe

I have not owned any of the manual opening kwaikens, but have owned several of the flipper models.
I currently have one full sized titanium flipper and two of the new mini kwaikens, a g10 and a titanium.
They are all three outstanding knives but I really like the new mini kwaikens with the jimping on the flipper tab.
Flipper over manual is a preference but I have really grown to like flippers and the majority of my knives are now flippers regardless of brand, except of course my Spyderco's.
You would almost have to try them if possible and see which one fits the manner in which you grab and open your knives
Mostly rambling but I hope this helps some
