The pics do this one no justice. It's sharp, well balanced and feels incredible in the hand. I put a ton of time into this one and feel it is one of my best!

I used Desert Ironwood for the scales... it is one of the most stable and beautiful woods available, takes a great finish and is very durable. The blade has a very high polished satin hand rubbed finish and looks incredible! I hand sharpened this one finishing at 4000 grit. My heat treat process with 52100 is extensive and leads to great edge holding, fine grain and toughness. The blade is easy to sharpen and really holds an edge at around 62 RC hardness.

A kwkn like this one but in Brown G10 and hidden pins, would be for me. Got that, DF? '_

Matching ironwood shirasaya. Do it! :D

I seriously considered it. I wanted the contoured front on the scales though... I'm making a chisel soon for Saya work. The ironwood looks incredible...

Gooey is right.. That wood make this very sleek.
Thanks! I have some wood aging... nice looking poplar for a few traditional Sayas on the kitchen knives.

If it's still here on Monday, and if the car repairs are not too bad, I may just grab it. We'll see how things go.

Thanks! I hope the repairs go well!

Micarta pins - super glue up strength... they seem to disappear unless looked for too. I'm usually doing a combo of micarta and stainless pins, hidden and seen for the best of strength and looks. Thanks!
