I LOVE this knife!

But one thing I heard is that on the Boker you can get your finger caught on the blade when in the closed position.

Why would they cut the liner lock that thin? That does not make sense to me at all. Thick liners other wise though which is good but the thin cut out behind the locking liner leaves me to worry about the robustness of lock up there. Like the blade shape though. keepem sharp

Damn skippy, I really like the looks of that knife.

It looks like they just stonewashed every single metal part of the knife, and added some very subdued looking scales. Very classy looking, but not gaudy at all.

I would be concerned about the locking liner...it looks like they thinned out (sharpened?) the area where you disengage it - what the hell was the thought process behind that?

The liner lock is actually the same thickness as the opposite liner. They just "scalloped" a portion of it, a little beveled part where your finger would go. But beyond that it is the same thickness.

See, that is what looks so odd about it. I wouldn't have any doubts about the lock strength or whatever, it just looks like scalloping the edge of the liner where it comes in contact with your finger would just make it less comfortable than if you had left it flat or rounded it off.

How did you find it? Did it make for any hot spots or uncomfortable areas?

I honestly can't remember where I found it. I think I came across it surfing the internet, not really searching for anything specific. When I saw it though, I really liked it and ordered one within an hour. No regrets, love the knife and ergonomics. No hot spots or anything - feels good in the hand.

I feel like my last ten posts were espousing the awesomeness of this knife, but I'm going to have to chime in again: this knife really is stunning. The ergonomics are incredible, the scalloped portion on the lockbar makes it incredible comfortable to disengage the lock, and the lockup is so solid that I would never worry about lock strength under EDC use. Seriously, this thing has ZERO play which I can't even say about knives three times its price. It sucks that your centering is off, mine actually came perfect.

I gotta say it again - ignore the steel guys, ignore that it's made by Boker Plus, ignore that it's made in China/Taiwan: it's incredible and worth every penny.

+1

I like it but i must be the oddball here. I have the Kwaito fixed and when I look at this the knife appears entirely too thick. They have a similar shape.
The thickness wouldn't keep me from buying it though. Enjoy.

One other think there was no apparent reason for not installing a deep clip attached to the flattened butt( blackened) so the knife is nearly invisible to the eye. Look at an al mar sere2000 folder as an example.

Yes, I think a deep pocket clip would be a good addition. I was actually thinking about rolling a deep pocket clip myself. I ordered two Kwaikens and I'm going to keep one stock while the other one will be my project knife. I have some black & tan micarta scales on order and thinking about a deep pocket clip as well. Post pics after each mod.

I hope to have mine today and then it will be my turn to bitch.
jk. :D
It's a good thing we have pimpers.

I actually like the looks of the pocket clip. It fits the knife very well. I feel like a low rider clip would look weird but that's just me.

I really like the looks of the knife and the fact that it has IKBS. It's probably really fun to play with. I think I might try to dye the scales red when I get mine.

I just got mine, #003. Thank you Mike Dye!
This folder is now my all time favorite folder design.
No complaints either. When I find the sweet-spot on the thumb disk, she flies right open.
Get one!!
