Been a long time since I had something to post, so I'm glad it's something I am really happy with. I had posted this last year sometime but didn't have time to finish. I've been working on a few of these, trying to find the best way to bring out the hamon. While this one is nice I can't wait to post the others! When they are done, patience is something you learn doing this type of polishing. I used 1095 with a clay coat. I brought it up to 1500 then did a vinegar etch polish etch polish..you get the idea. This way seems to bring out the life in the little grey areas, something I can't quite catch with my lens yet.

I actually wanted to expose more, due to the fact I put a facet all the way around. Trying to show it off, it looks pointy in the picture but isn't.

The OAL is 9 1/4" and a 4 1/4" cutting edge.
