Kwik Thumb Stainless Stud on a vintage Schrade SG7?

Howdy,

I recently came into an old Schrade SG7 folder and I love it. However, since being spoiled for near 2 decades with the one-handed operation of my Spyderco, I am very drawn to the notion of attaching a Kwik Thumb KTS01756 Stainless Stud to the weird little nail nick region of my SG7. I have no experience at all with this product.

So I would appreciate hearing from those who have done this and would like to know – is it a good idea? Any issues? Is it a good fit and does it amp it up a notch and turn it into a smooth one hand opener – albeit a bulky one?

And if there is another better product – please do let me know.

We don't talk about thumbstuds in Traditional.

Let's see if we can't find a better place for this question. Maintenance and Tinkering springs to mind.

 
Just like a BUCK 110, it will work fine.

Wow, seems like the traditional knife forum guys are regular tight asses.
