Okay, so I like to carry a small fixed blade iwb, I made a kydex sheath for it which I really like but I wiould like to have some thin leather or animal hide over it as to have something smooth an nice against my skin, and on the inside have a small amount of leather on the cutting edge to preserve it. I like the kydex cause I can just swing my arm around and shove it down until I hear "click" and know its in.

Not for sure what your question is but I too love my kydex but prefer the feel of leather so I made this for one of my knives. It is kydex lined leather. The kydex is what holds the knife secure and the leather is formed around the kydex. The kydex liner is removable for cleaning.

now that is what I am talking about! I just dont like the kydex on my skin, call me a sissy i guess. how did you form the leather over the kydex?

I just wet formed the leather. I used my kydex press to get it molded well then let it air dry with the edges clamped. Pretty basic leather work. The next one I'm going to stich instead of useing eyelets.

When I initially ordered my last two fixed blades from Bob Appleby, I requested that the leather sheaths be made with a kydex insert as I prefer not to have a snap or strap on the top that has a tendency to foul the draw when the blade is needed.. I received 2 blades with this sheath configuration and I can say that Bob does top grade stuff
