I have a Mora and would like to have a Kydex sheath made, but I want a belt loop that swivels(not a dangler). Does anyone make such a thing? Thanks :)

Well, you could make one if you were willing to take the time to fabricate it out of Kydex. Essentially you just need a button of Kydex on the sheath and a belt loop with a socket that you mold onto the button so it can't come off.

Swivel freely, or swivel and lock to a specific position?

Swivel freely.

Ah. Easiest solution would be to have a single attachment point in the center of a loop and a standoff molded into the sheath to attach to. The TOPS Cockpit Commander has this setup, though it has a rubber washer squashed in there for friction to hold the loop in a semi rigid position.

OH, like those old cell phone carriers? That would pivot like a arm on a clock? I know what you mean, I would suggest walking into a hardware store that is family owned and I'm sure they would be more than glad to help you out.

Yes....just like the cell phone holders. I have the new Mora Bushcraft Force, love the knife hate the sheath. The sheath has the swivel belt loop and it works well. I would just like to recreate that on a Kydex sheath.

Anyone else have any ideas or PICS? I need your help! Thanks.

I don't have any pics, but here is what you can try:

Find a pair of jeans that have a riveted button on them (you know, the button on the front isn't sewn on, it has a solid shaft and is kept in place with a rivet)

Mold your Kydex around your knife, leaving a piece on the back sticking up for where you want the belt loop swivel to be.

Heat that back piece that's sticking up with a heat gun and mold it over the riveted button of the jeans--it doesn't have to be a tight, perfect mold, because you WILL need to get the button back out. If you end up not being able to take the button out, use a cutting wheel on a Dremel to make relief cuts in the Kydex that's molded around the button.

Once that's done, let it cool and mold your belt loop, leaving an area sticking down where you want it to attach to the sheath. Heat up that area and mold it over the button mold on the sheath.

Alternately, I suppose you could just buy a replacement jeans button like what I have described and rivet it onto the back of the sheath so you can just mold the Kydex loop directly onto that.

Just a thought :)

How about a simple Chicago screw of the correct length that holds the clip and the sheath together? Make it slightly loose and it will pivet. Just loc-tite it so it won't come apart.
