Anyone here using clear Kydex? Never knew it existed until I saw a picture of a sheath made with it in the Swamprat forum! Looks kinda cool in a way, kinda shticky in another way. Definitely nice to have the option, though. I couldn't find a price quote anywhere (of course) but is anyone using this stuff? Does it work pretty much like regular Kydex? Also, it looks like it's only available over 1.5mm thickness. I wouldn't mind getting a small quantity (few square feet) to have the option. I assume it would start to look like crap quickly, with little scratches forming all over the material, but maybe not.

Not sure where it's bought. Looks interesting, but I would assume it would collect oil, grime, scratches, etc.

Another option along those lines would be Lexan, you could even get a piece from Home Depot to try if you wanted. Cut and form it the same way as kydex, watch the amount of heat it will from bubbles in side the Lexan if it gets to hot. I do not think that either would look good for very long.
