John. I was wondering if you can make a kydex sheath for the Vic Farmer. It would be neat to have a clip like the folders have but a belt loop would do.

I think there would be a market if the price was right. I would be interested in one with holes that would allow it to be piggy-backed to another sheath.

I made one like you are talking about for the Farmer and Mora 510 out of leather but It was a pain. I think some piggy back kydex for different combos would do well. Like for my Hiker and Hiker backup. I think a lot of guys carry the Farmer. Kydex sheaths should attach pretty easy to another sheath.

Mmmm...I have a Farmer.....I have my grinding done for the week.....it`s pouring rain, so I can`t heat treat.....to the basement

Can't wait to see it. Sounds like we might get another foot of snow or more starting tomorrow.

Here you go.

This one could be piggybacked, but I think the best way is to make a combo sheath

I like the last one best. The smaller size would be important to me.

It's cool how you can just whip these up in such a short amount of time. The folks who created kydex should be cannonized by knifemakers and users.

John I will speak for all the lefties out here. You just answered a big question I've had.
Can I get a left handed sheath for my knife? In the past when I had money I would pass on knives if the sheath wasn't ambi. Unless I really wanted the knife, then I would suffer with it.
Now I see that I can get a sheath made fairly quickly. Excellent!

BTW, remember that there are a lot of lefties out here when making a sheath for a knife that you will post for sale. We may not buy if it has a wrong handed sheath. (I say this more for other makers who may read this. If you make a beautiful right handed sheath, you eliminate a significant group of potential buyers).

Statistically there are only 7-10% of lefty freaks out there so I'm not sure Significant is the right word :D :D

Still, even us normal righty (we even have right in our description) like a weak side (:p) carry on occasion :thumbup:

BTW John - those kydex sheaths look really top notch!

I never make a sheath untill the knife sells, then, unless it`s a neck knife, I always ask if right or left. That drop point I sold a while back went out with a lefty. As a matter of fact, I will be making another Scout Jr. for another trainer, who asked for both a right and left handed sheath. That way he will have multiple carry options.

actually, in statistics, the standard level of significance for most parameters is Alpha=.05. so, given the p-value of approximatly .07-.1, one may infer that the proportion of lefties is statistically significant, assuming the spread has a normal distribution, is a simple random sample and assuming that np > 10 and n91-p0>10. :D :D

I need one of each. If it fits the Standard issue Wenger then I will need another.

I would like to have a combo for the Lapland saw and the farmer.

I don't know why this picture showed up. Sometimes I don't understand these things.

It would be loose on the Wenger SI, but I just so happen to have one of those on hand too so I could make one up :D

I need one for my Buck 442C really bad. I lost the pocket clip. Do you need the knife? I still didn't get the other blade mailed so I could throw that in too. We are having a raging, all out ND blizzard today. Hope it don't get to you again. Heavy snow and 50 MPH wind.

While we're all playing, could something like this be made for a Bic lighter? Neck knife style with the two eyelets at the base? About how much would you charge?

Even better idea. Could a Combo neck sheath be made for the for the new bigger tin knife also have a mini bic lighter sheath? That would be ultimate. I'm excited just thinking about it.
