looking for some information on molding a small sheath for my CRKT side hawg. its the one with the 1.75" curved blade, and skeleton handle . im looking to make a horizontal carry sheath that isnt bulky .

i have a decent idea of the shaping , but im curious how to make the belt clip or loop....

any suggestion's?

I would look at Gary Graleys thread at the top of this forums and get some ideas. :)

ive been checking everything out here , and what i meant to ask is how do you keep a horizontal clip from sliding .

What I've done to prevent sliding – make a normal belt loop that's slightly wider than usual. Then, remove material from the center of the loop that equals the width of the belt loop on your pants. This makes a sheath loop that is “split” and each side of the loop straddles the loop on your pants.
The downside – the location of your belt loops (on pants) dictates the location of your sheath, but by shifting the position of the loop on the sheath it's usually not an issue.

I just re-read this and it may sound like nonsense. If it does, say so and I'll give it another shot.

its exactly how i was thinking , but i dont like that idea 100% because pants are all different.a movable loop isnt a bad idea, but i think it will over complicate things.

i am leaning more towards a small peg or stud that can be used with only modifying the belt. i wear the dickies belt with holes all around it, so that's why im thinking what im thinking .

so does anyone hand form kydex , or everyone use a press?
