Anyone who makes or wants to make kydex sheaths for their Busses (note Busse content

) might want to check out this mold I made:

It's not that hard to make and works very well. It's easier than driving a Ram 1500 onto the mold

I haven't seen the pics but have a suggestion. It sounds like you could use a "soft" hinge instead of a standard one. Try chain or vinyl. Measure the material with your padding in place and install tight. When compression occurrs, the hinge will flex allowing the plates to remain paralell and exerting the most even preassure possible for the press.

If I've completely missed the boat and jumped to an incorrect conclusion, please forgive me. I'm guessing that the mention of bolts indicates a traditional "ridgid"(sic) hinge assembly.

That's a good idea!! However, the way I'm doing it that is unnecessary. I'm using a huge hinge, as you will see.
