Tan Kydex.

16" AK.

2 afternoons.

Burnt fingers.

House smells like burning plastic.

Satisfaction of a job done well... About tree-fitty!

This is my first khukuri sheath.

Tools used were a clamp for the rivets. Needle files to clean up the holes.
Cordless drill. Rubber mallet. Oven. Bic lighter.

Belt attachment: Paracord.

I like it. I saw a cool site the other day where the guy formed the belt loop out of the back panel by folding it over and molding it. The pre made belt loops are expensive.

I like it too, and I love how you got fired up and just had to do it.

I like that part too, and it looks like a really practical, usable rig - well done.

Visually, Kydex just doesn't do it for me, though ... especially with a non-high-tech looking knife. But there's no denying how useful the stuff is. Personal preference is all ...

Desert look... Exactly what I was going for.

This rig and the next one (ambi VS right side carry) will be going to Iraq with me when I go. I put all the lanyard holes for versatility of carry. I can strap it to my ruck, my Body armor, my belt, etc. I will probly make a drop carry frog.
The loops towards the point of the sheath will allow for a compass pouch survival kit to be attached.

I am also going to make one of Black. I need to get black rivets and lanyard holes first.

I also made a small Biltong sheath but I am unsatisfied with it as it wont securely stay in by its self. Design flaw.

This sheath also fits my new Service one with out Modification.

I already have several sets of blanks cut and ready to go for more sheaths.

The cut out near the grip is for a snap strap for JUST IN CASE extra security during rucks or Jumps.

Sounds normal for working with kydex, but the end result is above normal. Nice job.

Dave, I might be driving through NC in Sept or Oct. It might be nice to meet you, drop off that pointy item and work some kydex together.
