Kydex, leather, other?

I have a personal project, a one off sheath/holster. I'd like this holster to have some structure not molded and click in like normal kydex sheaths. I would like to make it with sheet metal like breaks or bends. Can you break kydex like sheet metal?

Hello Rusty,
When you say "break" I'm assuming just doing a square bend. Is this correct? If so, no, it won't bend with a break the way that metal does. What I would recommend is making a wood block in the shape that you want your kydex to form to and forming it around that block. If you are wanting square corners you may have to forgo the foam entirely and use a male/female mold and press it in that. Hopefully one of the more experience kydex benders can chime in with further direction.
