I've heard that on the Combat line, a kydex lined cordura sheath may become the standard sheath, while a fully kydex/consealex sheath will remain an option. Does any one have any experience with these "kydex lined cordura sheathes" or know anything about them? What are there advantages and disadvantages? Thanks a lot for reading, and thanks a whole lot if you could help me out on this!

Busse has not released the sheaths yet, but I can tell you from seeing the manufacturer samples that the quality and toughness are excellent.

A cordura w/kydex liner allows some noise reduction qualities, like leather, with the security and performance of kydex. It also allows for multiple accessory attachment, like a stone pouch plus a small knife, fire starter or multitool.

Cordura sheaths with Kydex liners are also extremely tough with regard to impacts, are very resistant to high and low temperatures and easily allow many rigging options. The only real negatives as compared to full Kydex is that they are less cut and abrasion resistant. This of course is a relative statement, Cordura is not easy to cut or abrade, Kydex is just almost impossible to.

Full Kydex sheaths have abilities due to the stiffness and high resistance to being cut/abraded beside the primary advantages they give as a durable sheath material. I have for example used the flats of the BM sheath as a surface to write and sketch on as well as a cutting board. I have also used it as a shovel in loose dirt and sand. It also makes a nice surface to make a field hone with using sandpaper which is much easier to carry than a full hone.
