Picked up some damascus from the knife show in Tulsa this weekend which was already ground. ( I cheated I know) sold one identical with OD micarta and the other I wrapped the handle and pressed up some od green kydex for horizontal carry, which in my opinion is absolutly awesome. After a few sheets and trial and error I came up with a masterpiece that I must share. During construction of the sheath I realized this design does not necessarily need any grommets or rivets but only a single retention screw. you will notice there are a few grommets but they are for a neck chain and there is an extra tension screw above the tip of where the blade rests which serves no purpose. This construction is simply kydex folded three times with the blade held between two of the folds and the third fold is the large horizontal belt loop can be customized for any belt size and simply heated up slowly with a flame or heat gun and the edge tucked for belt retention. I cant explain the feeling I get when I see fellow cop wearing a knife on duty that I constructed. I think its going to generate some local business because this guy loves to show his gear to everyone and i already have people asking for freebies. My question is how in the hell is a man supposed to fend off these freeloaders wanting freebies anyways. Enjoy!
