How durable is the Thermoform Molding - (Maxx Form) - (12x11.5x1) from knifekits.
I have never used this material and do not know if I want to invest in it.
I guess I'm wondering how many sheaths you can form out of this foam.

One more question. When using a toaster oven what do you set the kydex on while in the oven.

Thanks.

most people use "modified " cookie sheats, i also lay the piece on a lava rock so i can see it when it gets limp
about the foam i do not know i buy mine in bulk from foamsforyou...or something like that..

I've been using my first set of knifekits.com foam for more than a year, and probably have made 50 or so sheaths. It shows no sign of wearing out anytime soon.

I set my kydex on the little rack that came with my toaster oven. If I burn the kydex, it melts lines into it, but the stuff was ruined anyways from overheating. I will eventually get around to grinding a smaller piece from a cookie sheet, to fit in the toaster oven, but for now the rack is fine.

Matt, the foam they sell is a different brand than what you got, they switched late last year, there is a review on it in here some where. The poster said it had some stench to it when he first got it, but after he let it air out, it worked very well...

Sonil pretty much covered the rest lol
