Guys:

I recently bought a ZT NOe variant. It has a nice leather sheath, but I want to get a kydex / nylon made for serious outdoor retention / protection. I used to love Frank Sigman's sheaths. I know Spec Ops is close, but anybody out there that can custom fit to a particular knife?? I'm particular about who I would ship my knife to, also. Had a bad experience a long time ago, with a certain Arkansas maker. He made a decent sheath, but the Winkler knife came back well tested. Even had a chip in the blade that Daniel had to grind out. I'm getting PO'd all over again just typing this. Anyway, how about some recommendations?? Thx,

Pete

BTW, that NOe is one cool machine!

I'm leaning towards Okuden. Not exactly Spec Ops or Sigman style, but sounds like good quality. Any comments or info on wait time, etc...?

David Brown and azwelke both make really nice kydex sheaths too, add a esee molle back and pouch and you have a first rate sheath.

Brian @ Okuden is an old Hog and has been making kydex longer than anyone here. He makes the liners for Semper Paratus. He makes all the sheath for Spartan blades and maybe others I am not aware of too.

Yes they do. I have a bunch from both. :)

And if want a personalized piece Dave Brown is the Picasso of kydex. He can carve it too.

Rainwalker also makes great kydexe and leather combo sheaths.

Thanks guys. I'll have a kydex made and add a Molle back. Sounds like a good idea.

Just let whoever makes the sheath know to space the rivets for a molle back.

will do. It'll take a while, but I'll post a pic when it's done. Thanks,

Pete

Don't forget about Eric at Mashed Cat. My sheaths from him have excellent retention.

A Stationary Kydex Drop Strip (SKDS) or Loop (SKDL) from Rainwalker provides for lower carry and will provide a good platform for extra retention with cord or webbing.

Then strap a MOLLE pouch to the front like I have in this picture.
