Kydex or Leather?

What do you prefer for your knife sheath kydex or leather? Why do you prefer the one you prefer? What are the pros and cons of leather and kydex sheaths? Thanks for the input
 
I prefer Kydex.
It's easy to keep clean, doesn't need polishing, it will scratch knives if grit gets caught in the sheath, it's easy to wash it out though
It is noisy, some blades will rattle slightly (depending on the sheath) click as they are drawn and reheated, and make a scraping noise if something hard is dragged over them (like a twig or branch when out in the bush)


Leather does look better, and is quieter too.
 
I would echo Echo's evaluation of the two....except I believe Kydex will scratch even without the grit caught in it.......but who worries about some little scratches on a user, right?

Leather allows for much more creativity to the design....

The answer never changes...try them both and see for yourself which works best for you.
