Kydex Piggybacking two knives

Hi all,

Like I stated in other posts I was really liking the BK16 as my next buy. With my GF buying me the BK39 as a gift Im not supposed to know about, that gave me an idea I was really liking to do with the two knives.

Having a kydex sheath maker make a piggyback sheath for the two knives with fire rod holder on a dangler.

I was wondering if anyone has done this with the above knives or similar?

OAL on knives are 14.75 and 9.25 respectively so it doesn't "seem" to big but Id like to get some insight.

thanks

Dave

I don't have either the 9 or the 16 yet, but I did a bit of digging for you.
Here is a Very nice setup by our own GSoM (If you would like for me to remove the photo, let me know).
I have that same combo....but it looks different....

Of course, I'm pretty sure this thread's been done before, but it was good that I took some new pics. Plus I have no desire to go and search for it ;).

Remove the photo? Absolutely not... its beautiful...And thank you for posting.... that is exactly the set up I was looking for....Probably the only thing I wouldn't opt for is the front pocket on the smaller knife.

How would I get in touch with GSoM? Just a PM through here?

It's a BK9 and BK24 piggyback, but very close to what you're looking for. It was done by "azwelke", one of the vendors here on the forum. I've also had some kydex done by JD ("710", also a vendor here). Both do excellent work.

That is very helpful, how would I go about making contact with them?

I tried to create a private message but it does not let me do it probably due to being new to the site.

Is there a website they have?

Just spoke with JD at 710 to discuss what I was looking to do with the piggy back..... Great guy that really took the time to explain different options as to what would work best... Thanks for everything.... My sheath should be here pretty soon and Ill def post pictures...

Thanks for all the help guys..... A really great forum that takes the time to help out a new guy like Ive been on here was years.....:thumbup:

Well, dangit - I missed it again. I had all sorts of input, but everyone else beat me to it. Good choice tho, dave(numbers)....Julio's a great guy and does excellent work. Mine is an azwelke setup, and the fit and operation of the whole package is peerless. Only problem is - and IMO this is something a majority of people would encounter - well.....the problem is me. I can't belt carry the setup for very long before I wanna get it off so's I can stand up straight. Planning on converting it to baldric at some point; it's too slick a setup NOT to carry, and I've had good luck with the one I tried.....

Looking forward to the pics when yours comes in!

I feel like you would need a baldric to carry that much weight... Unless you are attaching to a pack? I have a BK7 in a custom kydex sheath and adding my BK14 put it over the limit for me. To each his own. Get a good belt!

Yea, I always wear a really heavy duty leather belt designed for holster use... My EDC gun is a Glock 34 and I carry 2 spare mages on supports side...So its not the lightest EDC....... Im thinking I wont have a problem but experimenting will tell the tale

Make sure you can still tote that 16 alone. You may find yourself wanting it on your hip a lot more than piggy backed.

Yea, Ill probably pick up a stand alone kydex for the 16 for when I want something bigger than a folder...
