Kydex pocket clips?

So I'm really disliking the pocket clip on my new BM Mini Rukus. No surprise there, eh? I could reuse a clip from one of my lesser used knives but I got to thinking about using Kydex. Thicker would be better but the only thing I have laying around att is .060". Anyone ever attempted rolling their own pocket clip outta Kydex?

I'd like to see that. I don't expect the holes to last long from constant stresses on the screws. I opted to take one of my buddy's Kershaw clips and redrilled it for the Mini Rukus. It lifts the tail end out of the pocket about 3/16" higher but it's more robust than the BM clip and it fits my hand perfectly. So yeah, I'm happy.

I have a full size and a mini, both obtained when they first became available. The only problem I have had with the clip is the black finish wearing off. So I removed them, sanded them to a satin finish, bent them for a tighter fit, re-installed, and have had no problems since.

Exactly how is the Benchmade clip weak? Compared to the beast of a clip on my Lone Wolf Harsey Tactical T3, anything is flimsy. But I have yet to break or bend a metal clip. Have broken an old Cold Steel Voyager plastic clip.

I've also never lost a clip carried knife. The mini rukus did come out of my left hip pocket one day, I heard it hit the pavement. Re-bent the clip that evening, has not done os again.

The clip on the Rukus knives flex. I can easily, too easily, pull my Mini Rukus from my pocket. The standard BM clips that appear on most of their knives, like the Griptillian, is a much more robust clip.

It's rare, but I have had knives fall outta my pocket. It's usually been from going from a sitting to standing position or if I snag the clip on something but that's even rarer. Since putting a Kershaw clip on my Mini Rukus it's been tight in the pocket and I've no fear of losing my $170 knife.
