I haven't got any real experience with kydex and I was wondering what kind of temperature it would take to cuse any warping, even just slight flexing or softening.

I don't have an exact temperature but my wife's hairdryer gets hot enough to mold kydex on the high setting. Maybe even on the low also, haven't tried though.

Well i'm heading out bush in early January, which is the height of summer down under, with temperatures around 45 celcius and higher (115+ fahrenheit) and I was wondering if it could affect a sheath

I think you need well over 250 degrees F so you will be fine. Some of those that make things with kydex will be able to give you better temps as they chime in.

Sweet. I was worried as I've seen plastic literally melt in that kind of heat, it was thin stuff but still had me nervous.

I wouldnt leave it in the direct sun or in a car dash board. It wouldnt melt it but might relax it.

Good point, cars can get well over 160 degrees, coupled with the surface temperature of black kydex in direct sunlight, that's a chance I wouldn't take. Otherwise, I doubt any natural air temps are going to have an effect.
