Might be a dumb question with an obvious answer but here goes: what's the best way for removing kydex rub marks? Will normal metal polish do it? Thanks.

I think it depends on what kind of finish is on your blade. I've removed scuffs from matte finish blades by simply using soap and water and WD-40. I think WD-40 from my experience is a good all-round blade cleaner depending on the finish of the blade. I have an Entrek knife in which the blade is bead-blasted. On it, I tried everything and the scuffs were still there, except they were less noticeable. On a satin finish blade, I've used WD-40, soap and water, and a stone used for blade erasing and they all seemed effective. The WD-40 worked the best, though I thought.

I hope this helps you. ----Michael

I forgot to tell you.........I haven't used metal polish for removing those marks, so I'm not sure how it would do. The closest I've used it for a knife would be when I clean the brass on the scabbord of my Marine Corps NCO Sword. Brasso always does well for that. You could try the metal polish just to experiment to see how it does. I hope it works for you. --------Michael
