Kydex scuff marks

You can buff them out, but you will end up with a satin finish instead of the flat DC finish. To get the finish back to DC, you'll need to re-blast it very lightly with a fine media. If a business in your town has a blast cabinet with either glass or ceramic media your good to go if they do that sort of thing.

EDIT to add: That is the wonderful thing about the DC finish! You can scuff and scrape it up and take it to the cabinet and come back with a like new knife! :D

What's the problem with a kydex scuff mark? :D

Quick, before you clean it, post a pic here.

Ah, I see. Looking to "purty up" a secondhand Hog.

Got a question myself about the blasting cabinets. Is it possible to texture plastic, micarta, and/or G-10 scales with them? I'm not talking about Busse knives here. But I do have a couple of Beckers that I'd like to texture, as well as a Bark River in blaze-orange G-10. Will the blasting cabinet do a good job on these materials?

I'm aware that you should use a respirator when working with G-10. Same thing for micarta?

Yep, and G-10 is worse on the lungs because of the fiberglass.

I've blasted Becker handles and they came out nice and grippy without feeling sandpapery, muuuuch better than the stock grips. I've blasted both G10 and micarta and both seem rather resistant to glass beading, it just seems to clean them up a bit and give em a ever so slight grippy texture. Blasting will make the blaze orange tame down a little for sure, should bring it down to a satiny look.

As for plastics, thats a toss up, I'd make sure it was strong enough to resist the blasting or you might end up with more texture than plastic.

Current fashion among some knife makers is to bead blast the G10 to enhance the "grippiness" of the material. Tom Krein comes immediately to mind, but there are others as well.

Don't worry about it. If it is an Active Duty, you will use it. It compels you to use it. It is the best Busse user ever made.

Thr only Busse Custom Shop knife that I actually use is my Active Duty.
