I'm new to this site and I'm getting ready to build a combo Kydex sheath for my Becker BK9 and BK11. I'm going to be folding the Kydex over the knife the "sandwich style" and my question is how much extra Kydex should I have on both sides of the blade. I was hoping one of you guys that are reading this thread has done this before. My thoughts is 2" on both sides of the blade.

2" on each side should be plenty.

You're going trim the sheath to the dimensions of the knife after drilling the eyelet holes, correct?

When making a kydex sheath, always make it larger than you expect. You can always cut material off, but not put it back.

If you try to be frugal with kydex, you usually end up having to make the sheath again!

IABIGBUCKGUY, I know you are new, but please read the forum list and browse through the FAQ.
It makes a lot less work for us once you guys learn where most posts should go.
