Hi everyone,
I made a batch of 10 hunter-style blades. I want to make some Kydex sheaths however this is outside of my wheelhouse. I primarily make chef knives, I don't hunt, I never carry a fixed blade so I need advice from people who do. Here are the knives in question.
I want to make a sheath, preferably taco, pancake as a second choice. The customer wants it to be carried on the hip via a belt ( no pocket carry, no inside waistband), and to sit lower on the hip, ie they don't want much if any handle sticking above the beltline. I would let the sheath hang and attach with something like a cord however the retention on the sheath when you remove the knife would pull the entire sheath up, I need a mounting system rigid enough to prevent this play. I have looked at various clips like ulti however I don't know how to mount them to make a deep carry. I also thought about just doing a Kydex loop. If anyone with experience can weigh in and send me the correct direction that would be great.
