Hello CRK Forumers!

New member here. Long time knife fan, and am now contemplating the purchase of my first fine knife. I'm thinking of a wood-inlay small Sebenza. Question: I'd like a Kydex sheath, horizontal on the belt. Any advice about where to find one, or do I need to have it custom-made? Thanks!

A lot of guys could do it, but I personally have had good luck with Mike at River City Sheaths.

I wonder if it would have to be lined as not to scratch the nice wood inlay? Probably so.

By the way, nice you have you here GregGoode!! Welcome.

I'll try River City. And I think that's a good point about the scratching of the wood inlay - I'll think about whether I want that, how I want to carry the Sebenza, etc.

How/where do most people carry their Sebenzas?

Thanks again!

Hi Greg. Welcome to the forums!

If I were you I would stay away from a wood inlay Sebenza if you are going to carry it like that because the wood would probibly be damaged in time. I would get an engraved Sebenza or just a plain one to carry and use as a work horse! Good idea on the kydex!

I carry mine with the clip. I have been using it everyday now for over 5 years. It does get scratched up but it is not deep(can't even feel them with your finger nail) and the handle feels like a worn river stone!

I think I'll go with the regular handle for this knife, get a wood handle another time. I'll carry different ways according to mood :) Will probably get a neck sheath and a belt sheath.

Welcome Greg

I carry my Small plain in a G2 sheath very well made from leather, it is a tank. The Woodies are tougher than being mentioned, i have one on order and i can not wait.

I agree with Architect's comments.....I have kydex sheaths made by both On Scene Tactical and River City Sheaths.....I am very happy with both products....the sheaths are top notch.
