Is it ok? Top shelf only? Just dressed the 2nd deer this year with it, and sheathed the knife all full of fat and gore. I've put the knife through the dishwasher many times, just not sure of kydex. Knife is a Mora 546G, sheath is Grizzly kydex.

I've reshaped kydex with a commercial heat gun. You should be fine with it in the dishwasher. Really don't know if it will do anything to the color with the detergent. It didn't lose ant color with the heat gun.

Might depend on what settings you use on the dishwasher like heat at the end for drying. Personally, I wouldn't do it. To much of a risk. Just wash it out with hot tap water and soap. Use a sprayer to get all the nasty bits out. Perhaps soak in hot soapy tap water first.

Dishwashers don't get too hot, maybe 180°F with the 'heat' on. With 'heat' off, the water is only as hot as it comes out the kitchen faucet (mine's ~125°F).

Just make sure any "Hi-Temp Wash" or "Heated Dry" setting is set to OFF and you should be fine.

Also, be careful of super-duper clean-em-all dishwasher detergents. Some of their bleach-like chemicals might cause discoloration.
