Hi all,

I know this has been gone over, but I'm being lazy today (and I couldn't do a search last time I tried). Here is the situation:

I just got an 18" M43 for my girlfriend's son, who'll be deploying to Afghanistan next month. I've been looking for something special to send off with him all summer long and this one is it (long story, but I was kind of "told" to get this one by an old friend :)).

I want to get a kydex sheath made for it that'll be suitable for wearing as part of his kit. Possibly of a khaki color. He'll be humping a SAW and its assorted gear, so having it securely mounted on his web gear/vest/body armor will be paramount.

Are there any forumites who are making kydex sheaths that'd work for this use around... and who would be able to make it on fairly short notice? He is currently in Alaska drilling and will be deploying within 30 days, so time is pretty short.

Thanks for your help!!

Alan

ACStudios, if you talk to Kiah and he needs a model. I might be able to loan you/him my M43,post you're spec for the blade and we'll see how close they are. I'll be in central Kentucky Tuesday and may be able to drop it off to him if it isn't way far off my route.

Opps... seems like I asked this question way back when Joel graduated last summer. Sorry for the duplicate. My memory has been deteriorating over the last few years...

Leatherface it is!! Thanks again MacHete...

Oh... other choices. Thanks Karda, I'll give Kiah a shout too. I also contacted ilbruche (search works again... yay!). He has some outstanding talent! I'm not sure who'll be able to handle the short notice on this project, so choices are good.

Oldschool... thanks for the offer. The one I got for Joel is today's Weekend Special. Yangdu will ship tomorrow so I'll know more when it arrives later in the week.

Okay... I got my sheath back from Leatherface this past week and I'm totally floored. It is an outstanding sheath (sorry... no pics. I know, I'm a tease) and well worth shipping a khuk off to him.

In other words... I highly recommend him if you'd like a kydex sheath for an HI product :)

I will try to get a photo in the rear future, probably when I'm finished with the whole facelift... Now I'm going to concentrate on fixing up the handle and either putting a duracoat or Cerakote finish on it.
