I have never made a sheath before. I love the look of leather but it doesnt hold up very well with me in the field. So I am looking into trying my hand at making a Kydex sheath. It seems to be easier then using a easy bake oven. The only thing that I am lagging on is pressing it around the blade. I seen they have presses made for it but I am not going to spend 100+ on something simple.

With that being said it would be nice to have you all chime in on what you all are using for a press and what materials you used to make the press. :)

Thank You!

( I am sure there is already a post about this somewhere but I have not come across it yet )

Mousepads and a few boards, or some of those sleeping mats they have at Walmart would make for quite a bit of padding you could use after you cut it to size.

I used two pieces of board, on each side glued a piece of hard foam. Then made a chain bracket to clamp down when you press it. On the other side I just put a bracket sticking up with a hole for a screw driver so it holds it down.

Boards, camp mat foam, and big gclamps, my set up is pretty primitive but works just fine.
