Hello,

Looking for kydex sheath recommendations for a Winkler Knives Blue Ridge Hunter. The leather covered Boltaron sheath that came with the knife is beautiful. It’s just a little bulky for my particular EDC applications. I reached out to Winkler Knives, but they advised me the leather/Boltaron is the only sheath they currently have available.

An internet search for kydex sheaths did not return many results. I found one video of of sheath that looked perfect for my application, however I believe the maker is from Germany, and his website does not list any available sheaths for Winkler Knives. Ideally, I’d like to find something manufactured a little closer to home. I would prefer taco style, but at this point I’ll look at any options.

If anyone has any recommendations, they would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Ive also reached out to winkler knives. Im pretty sure they get calls on more than 1 occasion. Personally I think they should (if they can) offer either style. Leather or kydex only. Order straight from them. I can’t see it as being a difficult task. Im no expert, but isnt the sheath made of kydex and then wrapped in leather? Maybe his old lady needs a hobby

If you’re willing to ship the knife try Bladeforum member David Brown David Brown . Builds excellent kydex sheaths and has a forum here. There’s also forum member azwelke azwelke another excellent kydex maker.

Also there’s a sticky at top of this area, listed Sheath makers and such of Bladeforum.

LT Wright makes custom Kydex sheaths but you will have to send them your knife. They made a nice one for my Condor Primitive Bush Knife.
