I wanted to share with all parties that I have learned about a static cord carry that I had never knew existed. This lesson was revealed from a market purchase with fq55 fq55 .

I have never been opposed to Kydex, but have leaned toward Leather. Many of my kydex blades were put on neck knife duty, tek-lok, or bag carry. This has really opened my eyes and have enjoyed this carry much and plan to put it to use across a number of my kydex blades I hold.

While there will always be pros / cons for either leather or Kydex; I don't want this thread to go into debating which is greater. I did want to let all know that I learned about static cord carry after many years, so wanted to share with the forum in the case others were not aware of this carry option.

youtube is a great reference if you want to look into it more.

It assists inside waist band carry. I did state to use YouTube as a reference. I will embed a video for others albeit this is a leather sheath in vid. Thanks for the critique.

I've seen this demonstrated before and I like it!

Glad you are finding the static cord method useful. I have found that this type of carry is superior to a iwb loop for my needs.

I found out about this from looking over some of RJ Martins Knives at a show in the 90’s and then discovered that Phil Hartsfield used static cords as well.

@JParanee has been using this method for much longer and has excellent YouTube videos describing it.

I also think it’s it’s the most comfortable way to carry a fixed blade if you are in and out of a car throughout the day. It’s easy to shift the knife around your waist so there isn’t a hot spot with a handle jabbing you in the love handles.

EDIT: Here is one of my current static cord setups.

A Tendick bdu back in a extremely rust resistant Z-finit steel with a lace cord and g10 bead to help adujust the length.

Ah ha ha, I was like what the heck is static cord?

Oh that, it's now a technique with a name to it? I've been doing that paracord loop for ages now long since the days of hoeing. On both sides, sheath and tailed. Dual static corded method.

It must be intuition. Don't steal my advanced technique, you.

Static cord has long been my preferred method of iwb carry. I’m glad you discovered it. I find it is much more comfortable than most other options since you can move the knife around to accommodate sitting down.

Still there are some knives I prefer to use a rubber pull the dot loop.

They actually have static cord “holsters” for pistols that let you iwb a pistol comfortably. It is basically a little plastic piece that clips over the trigger guard to prevent anything from hitting the trigger. When you draw the pistol the piece pops off.

Not a great quality picture but you can see it here.
