I have been heat forming my kydex before I drill and set the eyelets but I've been having problems keeping the knife lined up right and the kydex comes to life when I hit it with the geat gun. The part I'm heating rises up and tries to fold back. Now I cut the kydex to the needed size, heat it down the middle and fold it in half, lay the knife on top of it and mark where the eyelets will go, drill it, set the eyelets, then put the knife in and heat the kydex and form it. This simple thing makes it so much easier to make the sheaths and they come out much better. Just wanted to share this with my fellow kydex sheath making struggling forumites. Whew! Back to the shop!

I do pretty much the same thing Michael. It just makes it easier for me. Now the hard part is finding eyelets in my area. I hate ordering things.
