After Rob Evans from the UK made me a new kydex sheath with a leather beltloop for my Ackerman Pug, I asked him if he could make me something similar for my Bushtool clone with some changes. He came up with this very clever design to satisfy my obsession with having a sheath double as a field strop... :o
The loop has two snaps and a removable cinch strap. Unsnap them and unfold the leather loop (treated with autosol). Use your knife lanyard to loop the strop around a branch, hold the kydex in one hand and pull it taut.
After you are done, snap the whole thing back together.

Good idea for built in strop but dried autosol is powdery and would mess up your belt and clothes? Perhaps just untreated leather would be better or even the green compound which sticks to leather quite well.

Clothes stay clean (the autosol is on the inside of the loop), if you are bothered by some autosol dust getting on your belt when outdoors, it does wash off.
Untreated leather works well too, you are right. Just a matter of preference I guess.
