I have a Ivan Campos knife I just recieved in a trade, and the knife is cool, but the kydex sheath is too loose! Is there a way I can tighten it up? Or a cheap way to make a new one? Or can you recommend a good, yet cheap maker of kydex, or leather sheaths?
BTW- blade is about 3in.
Thanks for any feedback!
Steve

Good, and cheap, usually don't go together. Ivan's blades deserve the best. Get hold of Normark and see what he can do for you; his Concealex sheaths are superb.

Is your knife one of the ones he makes from 5160? He makes an awesome blade.

You can take a heat gun (or hair dryer) and soften the sheath. Press it down while it cools and it will retain the new shape. Don't burn yourself. If you get the whole sheath hot it will lose all shape. Just heat the area you want to modify.

Yep its in 5160!
Thanks for the tip Bill I will give that a try, and if it doesn't then perhaps I will contact one of the makers listed.
Thanks, Steven

The knife that I got from Ivan is his HBS #5 and it came with a beautiful leather sheath that was stained to match the Imbuiya root handle and it looks just awesome. Gets used every day and has developed a nice patina. It deserves leather.
