Kydex Sheaths

I called EKI on Friday about their Rapid Deployment Sheaths being out of stock, and the person I spoke with said that if it were up to them they would not make them again... This concerns me. I like to keep knives out of my pockets and away from other metal that can damage it, but I'd like to be able to still utilize the wave feature. Anybody have one of these sheaths? Better yet, since EKI is a little vague about when/if these may be back, do you have any better solutions? Come on, I know you guys can think of something...:D Thanks for the help.

i'm sure one of the custom kydex guys could make ya something up, maybe similar to the EKI sheath?
 
I've talked with a couple of makers, and they said they could no doubt make me a sheath to fit any Emerson, but what I am worried about is getting something that can trigger the wave feature. Keep in mind the design can't infringe on Emerson's patent for their sheaths. Anyone out there have one of the EKI sheaths that can tell me a little bit more about how they work? Thanks all.
 
i am not sure his sheaths are patented, the wave is but i've never heard of any special sheaths that are patented, imho it wouldnt be hard to figure a way to make them wave when ya withdraw them anyway,
